 QT Synthesizer 1.01 - QT Synthesizer is a simple application which lets you
play with the instruments in Quicktime 2.0 by using your Macintosh keyboard
as if it were a piano keyboard. What it doesn't do - QT Synthesizer is not
a sequencer in any form, and therefore is unable to record and play back
your performance. I know a lot of people want this feature, and someday I
may put it in, but for now I just don't have the time (sorry). To use QT
Synthesizer, you must have Quicktime 2.0 installed on your Macintosh. In
addition, it is strongly recommended that you have the Quicktime Musical
Instruments extension which is available from Apple (it's on the System

 CreditMaker1.01b1 - CreditMaker is basically for creating little QuickTime
movies that are scrolling credits. You take and combine these movies with
your QuickTime movies and viola, you have a way to put rolling credits at
the end. To create your credits, first create a text file with your
credits (TextEdit works nicely for this). Then open CreditMaker. You can
change things like the font, font style and color and other stuff. Then
choose Make Credits... from the file menu. First it asks you for the name
of the final Credits movie, then it asks you to find the text file with
your credits. Viola, that's it, the program will create the files from
there. Simple and fun!

backgrounding is an option to play movies without having to quit other
applications which may cause jerky playback. FastPlayer is not fat binary.
My code runs very little during movie playback so there would be no speed

Interesting note for AV Mac owners - BijouPlay lets you play or pause

data, and the tool may be further enhanced by adding motion. The (very
simple) movies in this distribution file show a rotating stellated
polyhedron. Use a QuickTime viewer like the Simple Player. Set the Loop
flag in the menu, and stare at the double image relaxing your eyes, so
that at the end you see a 3D image of the stellated polyhedron (for
further instructions on how to see stereograms, see one of the many
popular books on stereograms in print now - the technique is the same used
to view random dot stereograms). Then start the movie player and enjoy the

and you wish you could get the quality of the later when viewing the
former (and you don't mind run-on sentences), then you've come to the
right posting! This is a simple trick that anyone can do to improve the
color of quicktime moovs on a mac that can only display 256 simultaneous
colors. It doesn't always work, and sometimes it makes them look much
worse. But there are lots of moovs out there that it does help, and hey -

numbered set of PICTs. I did not write this program; I downloaded it from
the great Sumex machine at Stanford. There is no documentation to go along
with it, but to use it properly all you need to do is have a series of
PICTs which are numbered (e.g., Picture1, Picture2, Picture3, etc.) and
specify how many you want to be incorporated into the movie when prompted.
Quite easy, but the interface is a bit counter-intuitive. You might need
to experiment a few times before getting the hang of it.
